Montebello, CA — July 12, 2006 — Hajime “Jimmy” Yamaguchi, President of TEAC America, Inc. and a Director of parent company TEAC Corp. of Japan, passed away July 1, 2006, in Tokyo, Japan. The cause of death was attributed to heart failure. He was 61.

Formally educated in Japan, Yamaguchi joined TEAC Corporation of Japan in 1969, where he held positions in sales and service domestically and throughout southeast-Asia. In the mid-1970’s, he was transferred to TEAC’s New Jersey (USA) facility where he would manage the company’s factory service operation there, then in Chicago, and eventually being summoned to Montebello, California to become part of TEAC America, Inc.’s new management team in 1979.

To acknowledge Yamaguchi’s significant contributions to TEAC and TASCAM’s growth in the USA, he was named President of TEAC America, Inc. in 1994, and became a Director of TEAC Corp. of Japan shortly thereafter.

He is survived by his wife Emiko, and adult daughters, Tamami and Akiko.

Memorial services have been held in Japan, with future memorial services for the USA pending.
