Audiophile Grade CD/SACD Players and Integrated Amplifiers

CES – Las Vegas, NV – January 10, 2011 — TEAC America, a subsidiary of the premiere Japanese electronics manufacturer, announces the release of a new line of affordable audiophile grade CD/SACD players and integrated amplifiers, the “Distinction Series”. This new line is distinguished by sculpted aluminum front panels, fluorescent displays and solid construction, which are not common in affordable players and amplifiers.

There are three new CD/SACD players in the line,, the CD-1000, CD-2000 and CD 3000. All the players will play CDs, SACDs and CD-R/RW discs. 24-bit 196 kHz digital to analog decoders are used for maximum resolution and extraordinary sonic presence and imaging.

The entry level CD-1000 will retail for $899. The CD-2000, with an MSRP of $1,199 adds a high speed Class 2 USB streaming audio input allowing the CD-2000 to become a decoder for your music library stored on a server, PC, laptop or media server. By using the CD-2000, you avail yourself of the superior 24 bit decoding circuits bringing audiophile results from external devices.

The CD-3000, in addition to all the features of the other two models adds dual 24-bit 192 kHz decoders per channel. These DAC.s, operating in a dual differential mode, further refine the audio signal for exceptional clarity and musicality. The CD-3000 also allows the owner to up-sample incoming data and regular CDs to 192 kHz prior to decoding for amazing performance from regular media sources. The CD-3000 also sports all aluminum top and side panels complimenting the sculpted front panel and retails at $1,999.00.

There are three amplifiers in this new line. All the amplifiers in the “Distinction Series” use discrete analog circuits and have multiple analog inputs for versatility. The beautifully sculpted aluminum panels give a quality presence. All the products are equipped with a headphone output as well a pre-out to drive an external sub-woofer or recorder.

The AI-1000 will output a maximum of 120 watts per channel into 4 ohms and at an MSRP of only $999.00, is a real value product.

The larger AI-2000 starts with the same features of the A_1000 and adds a second pair of speaker outputs. At a full 180 watts per channel into 4 ohms, the AI-2000 will drive medium efficiency speakers with no distortion or clipping. This model adds a fully balanced analog input to the 5 regular RCA inputs including a phono stage. This amp has an MSRP of $1,499.00.

The top of the line AI-3000 brings mammoth power, capable of driving even the lowest efficiency speakers with plenty of headroom. The AI-3000 will put out an enormous 360 watts per channel into 4 ohms with an amazing signal to noise ratio of 102 db. Two fully balanced analog inputs are available with the AI-3000. The side panels are tremendous aluminum heat sinks that run the full length of the amplifier. At over 20” high and 69 pounds, the AI-3000.s imposing looks match the amplifier.s muscular performance specifications. The MSRP for the AI-3000 is $2,999.00.

“"We are truly excited to introduce the Distinction series to our customers. We have always carried consumer products and our Esoteric high end audio products, but felt we needed products that fit right in the middle to fill the gap. With the distinctions series, we now we have products for everyone." said Paul Jenkins, Senior Vice President of TEAC America. This complete line of source and amplification products brings the highest quality audio components into the range of even modest budgets. All products in this series are available in either natural aluminum color or in black and will be available in February 2012.
